Professionals use specs to ask others to take part within the work.
One form of spec outlines the resolution. In clear language, it defines the work to be achieved. A superb resolution spec defines an end result with no room for error or selection. “It’s this. Not that, not that, however this. If it’s this, we’re achieved.”
The opposite form of spec outlines the downside. It invitations staff members to innovate on the best way to producing an answer. “If it solves this downside inside these constraints, we’re achieved.”
Neither efficient spec strategy entails “I’ll realize it after I see it.” A spec eliminates mindreading and guesswork.
